Theodora Ilinca: A Dance Journey
I am Theodora Ilinca Agafiței, a professional ballerina with the Romanian National Opera in Iași, where I have the honor of performing in a diverse range of classical and contemporary works, including Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, and Don Quijote. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to perform in various capacities, from corps de ballet to semi-soloist, constantly pushing myself to refine my technical abilities, expressivity, and stage presence.

Dance Journey
My journey as a dancer began at the College of Arts Octav Băncilă in Iași, where I trained in choreography and graduated with a high school diploma in 2021. This early foundation laid the groundwork for my further studies at the National University of Arts George Enescu in Iași, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Choreography. Seeking to deepen my understanding of dance and pedagogy, I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Dance Pedagogy at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chișinău.
Throughout my education, I have been fortunate to study under esteemed instructors and participate in specialized masterclasses, including the Russian Master Ballet Program at the Vaganova Ballet Academy and workshops with internationally acclaimed professionals such as Maria Khoreva, Sigal Zouk, Margarita Kullik, Anna Podlesnaya, Alexandr Stepin, Nina Ivanovich, Anastasia Dunets, Catarina Carvalho and Pascal Alio. These experiences have not only refined my classical technique but have also expanded my versatility as a dancer, enabling me to embrace both traditional and contemporary repertoires with equal passion.
Experience
Artistic Growth and Passion
My artistic growth is driven by a deep passion for dance. Each experience, class, and performance inspires me to explore new styles and push my boundaries. I believe in continuous learning and embracing challenges, as they fuel my creativity and help me evolve as an artist. Dance is not just what I do; it’s who I am.
Ballet, Contemporary and Choreography
Ballet and contemporary dance are the foundations of my artistry. Ballet provides strength and technique, while contemporary offers freedom and expression. I also love choreography, where I can blend these styles to tell stories through movement. Together, they shape my unique approach to dance.
